Sukoharjo, December 13, 2024 – The Digital Business Study Program at Universitas Sugeng Hartono (USH) successfully held an event titled “A Day as a College Student” on Friday.
A total of 30 students from SMAN 1 Mojolaban and SMAN 3 Surakarta enthusiastically joined the program and explored university life firsthand, especially in the field of Digital Business.
This event aimed to give high school students a real glimpse into campus life while introducing them to the Digital Business program’s curriculum, facilities, and career opportunities at Universitas Sugeng Hartono.
Universitas Sugeng Hartono hosted the full-day event on campus, featuring an interactive lecture session as one of its main activities, held in the ICT Laboratory.
During this session, students had the opportunity to join a Mobile Programming class, taught directly by Mr. Imam Syafii, S.Kom., M.Kom., a lecturer with extensive experience in information technology.
Through hands-on practice, students learned how to create a simple music player application using desktop programming. The app was designed to run on mobile devices such as smartphones.
This activity not only offered a real glimpse into university-level learning, but also introduced students to essential digital skills aligned with today’s tech-driven industry needs.

“We aim to give high school students a real insight into the learning process at the university, especially in the Digital Business program, which is closely related to technology and innovation,” said Mr. Imam Syafii.
Following the lecture session, the event continued with a mini-workshop led by the Vice Rector II of Universitas Sugeng Hartono, Mr. Ahmad Aufar Ribhi, S.E., M.M.
In this session, students engaged in an interactive discussion on current digitalization trends and career opportunities in today’s modern technological era.
The purpose of the workshop was to broaden students’ perspectives on the digital workforce landscape and emphasize the importance of skill readiness in a rapidly evolving tech-driven world.
According to the Vice Rector II, this activity is also part of Universitas Sugeng Hartono’s effort to build strong relationships with high schools around the Solo area, while introducing their flagship study programs to prospective students.
“We hope this event will serve as a first step for high school students to better understand university life and inspire them in choosing their future field of study,” added Ahmad Aufar Ribhi.
Students Show Enthusiasm While Creating a Music Player App at USH
The students actively participated with great enthusiasm throughout the event, especially during the hands-on session in the ICT Laboratory where they developed a music player application.
One participant from SMAN 3 Surakarta shared their excitement after joining the activity.
“This experience was really fun and valuable. Now we know what it feels like to study on campus and develop useful applications,” the student said enthusiastically.
Universitas Sugeng Hartono once again showed its strong commitment to remaining a relevant and progressive university by actively supporting the younger generation in facing the challenges of the digital age.
The “A Day as a College Student” program is expected to become a regular agenda that bridges secondary and higher education, while also strengthening the university’s relationship with the wider community.
