
Yogyakarta, February 25, 2025 — Continuing her streak of excellence on the international stage, Universitas Sugeng Hartono (USH) student Feren Oliviana once again brought pride to her university. At the 2025 Gamada Open International Karate Championship, held at GOR Pancasila, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Yogyakarta from February 21 to 23, Feren secured 1st place in the Individual Student category and 3rd place in the University Women’s Kumite 50 kg category.
Guided by Senpai Sugeng Mulyono and fully supported by her father, Feren trained with unwavering dedication. Through intensive practice, hard work, and an unyielding spirit, she triumphed over competitors from some of Indonesia’s top universities. This achievement further highlights her commitment to excellence and her ability to perform at the highest level in competitive sports.

“Despite facing many strong opponents, I stayed optimistic and focused on my goal. I always reminded myself of this message: ‘Never look at who your opponent is—make them see who they’re up against.’ This achievement is the result of hard work and the unwavering support of my coach and family,” said Feren.
She defeated strong contenders from Universitas Gadjah Mada and Universitas Esa Unggul in the Women’s 50 kg University Kumite category. In the Individual Student category, Feren also triumphed over competitors from Poltekkes Yogyakarta, further proving her exceptional skills in this prestigious championship.
