ITSK Sugeng Hartono Takes a Major Step Toward Becoming Universitas Sugeng Hartono

Sukoharjo – The Sugeng Hartono Institute of Science and Health Technology (ITSK Sugeng Hartono) hosted a pivotal event on Monday and Tuesday, January 15–16, 2024, at the campus auditorium. The event marked the final stage of the institutional transformation proposal to become Universitas Sugeng Hartono (Sugeng Hartono University).

Evaluation Visit by DIKTI and LLDIKTI Region VI

The event began at 9:00 AM (WIB) and was attended by the Evaluation Team for Institutional Transformation from the Directorate General of Higher Education (DIKTI) and LLDIKTI Region VI. Representing LLDIKTI Region VI was Mr. Gandung Sumardi, S.Kom., M.Kom., while the team of evaluators for legal, financial, and general aspects was led by Mr. M. Rizky Aldila, Prof. Euphrasia Suzy Suhendra, and Mr. Heri Fathurrahman. Meanwhile, the Institutional Directorate team included Ms. Risma Sari, Ms. Aulia Ni’matu Fajar, Mr. Amin Zuhdi, and Mr. Stepanus Danang.

The presence of these high-level evaluators underscored the significance of this step in securing approval and recommendations from national higher education authorities.

Vision for Transformation into Universitas Sugeng Hartono

Dr. Ir. Djoko Suwarno, M.Si., Rector of ITSK Sugeng Hartono, delivered the opening speech, highlighting the institution’s rapid growth in technology, science, and health fields. He emphasized that transforming into a university is a strategic move to broaden the academic and research scope and better prepare future graduates for Indonesia’s Golden Demographic Era in 2045.

As part of the requirements for university status, ITSK Sugeng Hartono has proposed three new academic programs:

  • Food Technology
  • International Business Management
  • Business Law

These new programs are expected to align with current market demands and offer diverse educational pathways for prospective students.

Holistic Assessment of Readiness

During the two-day visit, the evaluation team carefully reviewed supporting documents, including curriculum development plans, human resources, facilities, and institutional marketing strategies. They also conducted meetings with faculty members and administrative staff to gain a comprehensive understanding of the institution’s readiness for the transition.

A Historic Milestone for Sukoharjo’s Higher Education

This transformation proposal not only reflects ITSK Sugeng Hartono’s ambition to grow but also represents a historic milestone in higher education development in Sukoharjo Regency.

If approved, Universitas Sugeng Hartono is expected to make a significant contribution to advancing science, technology, and innovation in the region.

The institution remains optimistic that the evaluation and approval process will proceed smoothly, paving the way for a new chapter in its journey toward becoming a forward-looking and relevant university for the modern era.
