Surakarta, 25 November 2025 – Another proud achievement has been earned by Universitas Sugeng Hartono (USH) students on the national stage. The Catetify Team from the Informatics Study Program secured the Third Runner-Up title in the 2025 Indonesian Student Entrepreneurship (KMI) Expo under the Digital Business category, a prestigious national event that brings together young innovators from universities across Indonesia.
The team consists of Brieva Ommr as Chief Executive Officer, Mustofa as Chief Technology Officer, Muhamad Faruq as Chief Operating Officer, Novela Putri P. as Chief Marketing Officer, and Irfandi Witjaksono as Chief Financial Officer. These five students successfully captured the attention of the judges with their digital innovation, Catetify, which was recognized for its high utility, broad implementation potential, and strong relevance to the needs of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia.
Catetify is an AI-based mobile application that facilitates the recording and financial management processes for MSMEs. Using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology, the app can read and convert information from receipts and transaction notes simply by scanning them with a smartphone camera. This technology enables faster, more accurate bookkeeping with minimal errors, helping MSME owners save time and gain clearer insights into their financial status.
The Rector of Universitas Sugeng Hartono, Assoc. Prof. Jacob Febryadi Nithanel Dethan, S.T., M.Eng.Sc., Ph.D., expressed his pride in this achievement. He emphasized that the success of the Catetify team represents the quality of education and the innovation ecosystem continuously fostered at USH. According to him, this accomplishment not only brings honor to the university but also demonstrates that USH students are capable of contributing to technological advancement and community empowerment, particularly in the MSME sector.
As a university established in 2021, Universitas Sugeng Hartono continues to strengthen its position as an adaptive, creative, and future-oriented higher education institution. USH’s vision to become an internationally recognized university is further reinforced through the achievements of its students, including their success at KMI Expo 2025.
USH hopes that this accomplishment will inspire other students to keep innovating, create impactful digital solutions, and actively participate in competitions and technology development programs at both national and international levels.
