Muhammad Adi Pratama is an English lecturer at Universitas Sugeng Hartono, Indonesia. He is academically and professionally interested in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) and English as a Second Language (ESL) pedagogy, especially for Indonesian-speaking students. He is strongly dedicated to promoting English language competence in those whose native language is Indonesian and strongly believes in the transformative power of language education.
His teaching experience in a wide array of centers teaching English, schools, and universities provides him with scope as well as depth of experience in teaching practice. His subject of interest is proficiency testing in the English language, particularly the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). His studies are concentrated in the field of grammatical correctness of academic writing with an emphasis on the problems of a learner in higher education. Writing is viewed by him as the most demanding skill in second and foreign language learning because it is associated with complicated cognitive and linguistic requirements.
His general purpose is to help in raising a generation of Indonesian speakers who can communicate properly in English through casual, professional, and academic activities. Ideally, through such a vision, he wants to help Indonesia access the globalized educational and professional opportunities so that the nation will be able to contribute more to the global discourse.
